Kenneth L. Smitheman Sr. June 16, 1928 - June 21, 2011

Kenneth L. Smitheman Sr., 83, of Aston, Pa, passed away June 21, 2011 at Fitzgerald Mercy Vitas Hospice Unit. Mr. Smitheman was born in Rutledge, Pa. He worked for 38 years at Scott Paper Co. where he retired in 1990. A faithful member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Aston, Pa, Mr. Smitheman was a devoted and loving family man who was well liked by all who met him and treasured by his family. Mr. Smitheman was the son of the late Albert and Reita Smitheman and the father of the late Craig J. Smitheman. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Joan (nee Goldey) of Aston, sons Kenneth Smitheman Jr. (Diana) of Idaho and William Smitheman of Phila, daughters Valerie McGee of Brookhaven and Joan M. Smitheman of Claymont, De and daughter-in-law Gail Smitheman of Brookhaven. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10:30am at St. Josephs Church, 3265 Concord Rd., Aston, Pa, 19014. Visitation Sunday evening 7-9pm and Monday morning 9-9:45am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa.
