Arthur A. Erickson Jr., 90, passed away April 20, 2013 at Brinton Manor, Glen Mills, Pa. Born in Williamsport, Pa, he has been a long time resident of Parkside, Pa. He graduated from Atlantic City High School, class of 1939. He was a very active member of the VFW Post 7060, Our Lady of Charity Church and the Charitians, and the Moose Lodge. He loved camping, taking long hikes, and spending time at the Jersey Shore. Above all else he loved spending time with his family. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army where he held the rank of Staff Sgt.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanora Erickson who passed away in 2005; his parents Melinda and Arthur Sr.; his brothers Robert and Raymond Erickson.
He is survived by his two sons Edward A. (Maureen) Erickson of Aston, Pa, and Thomas A. (Donna) Erickson of Brookhaven, Pa; brother Donald “Sonny” (Ruth) Erickson of Lewes, De; his grandchildren Brian, Michael, Jessica, and Laura Erickson and Shannon McIntyre; 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral mass Wednesday 10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Wednesday 9:30-10:30am at the church. Interment Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, Pa. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to VFW Post 7060, Brookhaven Borough Hall, 2 Cambridge Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.
