Andrew (Andy) DeMaio, “Andy the Mailman”, 88, passed away March 30, 2017 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Chester, Pa, he lived in Bridgeton, NJ, Chester, Aston, and for the last 32 years in Wallingford, Pa. He worked for the US Postal Service for over 34 years, 29 of those serving his beloved route including Cambridge Estates and much of Brookhaven. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force as well. Andy was an avid golfer, casino slots player, and card player but spending time with his family was truly his greatest joy. He also could be found spending time with his best friend, the late Jim Ruby and Jim’s family watching sports and attending their many family events. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and always being “fine like wine”.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Doris S. (nee Hunt) – his “Sweets”.
He is survived by his daughter Susan (Allen) Dempsey and his son Chuck (Gina) DeMaio; his 4 grandchildren Heather, Brandon, Alicia, and Andrew.
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday 11am at St. John’s Chrysostom, 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, Pa, 19086. Visitation Wednesday 9:30-11:00am at the church. Burial private.
