Ida M. DiIorio, 91 of Brookhaven PA, passed away on August 16, 2013 at home. She was the wife of the late Anthony G. DiIorio Sr., with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Born and raised in Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Nicholas & Sylvia Trosino.
Ida had been a resident of Brookhaven PA for 59 years. Ida graduated in 1941 from Chester High School. Upon graduation she worked for Baldwin Locomotive in Eddystone PA. Ida was a parishioner of Our Lady of Charity Church for 59 years, having joined when she moved to Brookhaven. She was a member of Our Lady of Charity, Charitians Retirement Group.
Ida enjoyed traveling and cooking for her large family. She will be remembered by all for her wonderful outlook on life. She prided herself on never having to visit a doctor or take any medicine. She enjoyed travelling and one of her most memorable experiences was dog sledding in Alaska in 2005 at the age of 83.
She was also predeceased by her step-father Calogero Catania and her three younger sisters. Enidina Busch, Elia Cullinan & Jean Davis.
She is survived by her five children; Mary Jane Board (David) of Boca Raton FL; Anthony G. DiIorio, Jr. (Linda) Aston; Sylvia Hankins (Charles) Media; Nicholas DiIorio, Brookhaven and Darlene Massimini (Dean), Washington Township, NJ. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael & Neil DiIorio, Aston; Carly Hankins, Madison WI; Dean Massimini, Jr. Washington Township, NJ; Shelby Hankins, Media; Daniel Massimini, Washington Township, NJ and her sister-in-law Nancy DiIorio (George) and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family and Friends may visit with the family Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 8:30 am to 10 am at Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgemont Avenue, Brookhaven
Funeral Service: There will be a Mass Celebrating Ida’s life at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Our Lady of Charity Church, Brookhaven PA. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Taylor Hospice, 300 Johnson Ave., Ridley Park, Pa. 19078
