Francis J. Cariello, 82,
passed away September 14, 2009 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Born in Chester, Pa,
he has been a resident of Upland, Pa, for the past 37 years.
He had previously resided in Chester, Pa, and Aston, Pa.
He originally worked for Baldwin putting locomotives together. His true passion was being an entrepreneur which he worked harder for that than anything else. He was the former owner of Elwyn Restaurant and Co-owner of Fran and Nan’s in Chester, Pa, and at Five Points in Aston, Pa.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, during WWII he was a part of the Fighting Seabees.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Wendel Cariello; his son Francis Cariello Jr.; and his daughter, who just recently passed away, Anna Marie Cariello.
He is survived by his son Joseph Cariello, West Chester, Pa; his sister Seraphine Traub, Upland, Pa; 2 grandchildren, Anthony and Nicole Cariello; several nieces and nephews, loving in laws, and many close neighborhood friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday 11am at St. Joseph Church, 3265 Concord Rd., Aston, Pa, 19014. Friends may call Thursday 9am-10:30am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa.
Interment for Francis and his daughter Anna Marie will take place immediatly following the service at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
