Mr. Ronald “Ron” Pesotski August 22, 1946 - September 27, 2021

Mr. Ronald Pesotski, 75, of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, died on September 27, 2021, after a courageous battle with a breakthrough case of Covid-19. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Stanley Pesotski and Anna Strichek Pesotski. After spending his childhood in Essington, he lived nearly all of his life in Brookhaven, attending St. James High School in Chester and graduating from Villanova University and gaining a Master’s degree from the University of Delaware.

Ron is survived by his cherished wife Susan Neely Pesotski, to whom he was married for nearly 53 years. He was an extremely loving and proud father of three children and their spouses: son Chris and his wife Patti, daughter Carin and her husband Kevin, and son Matthew and his wife Heidi. His loving grandchildren, John and Emma Lee-Pesotski, Grace and Matthew Hannigan, Andrew and Ellie Newsome, and Owen Pesotski will miss him dearly. He is also survived by brother Stan Pesotski, sister-in-law Linda Pesotski and their family, best friend George Pappas, as well as many other family members and friends.

Ron touched the lives of countless students and colleagues as a social studies teacher for more than 35 years; he spent most of his career in the Penn-Delco School District, but began teaching in Delaware. After his family, his greatest love was his interaction and relationships with his students. “Mr. P” was extremely proud to help found the Vanguard Volunteers of Sun Valley High School, and he was always looking for ways to encourage students to build a commitment to their community and country. He also served his fellow teachers and the education profession as a passionate leader in both his local teachers’ union, PDEA, and the state teachers’ union, PSEA.

Ron’s own dedication to the community was not limited to his students and fellow educators. He served as a Pennsylvania State Constable for more than 30 years, working closely with the Brookhaven Police Department and local district courts. Ron had a passionate interest in government and politics and gave many years of service to the Democratic Party of Brookhaven Borough.

At home, Ron took pride in the gardens surrounding his home, which he loved to plan with Susan. His greatest happiness was spending time and building traditions with his family and loved ones, such as the Christmas Eve sharing of oplatek and the eating of Wigilia seven fishes in the Polish custom. Ron continued his father’s tradition of a summer crabfest with a Dads and Crabs party on Father’s Day and was happy as more families and loved ones joined in his cherished celebrations. He loved to visit local restaurants with Susan and take country drives stopping at garden centers and book stores. Ron enjoyed Sudoku and watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, through thick and thin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9-11 A.M., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Avenue, Brookhaven, PA. At the conclusion of the visitation, a funeral liturgy will be presided by Deacon John R. Bowie of St. John Chrysostom Church. Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery will follow.

Ron’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and health aides who have tirelessly and lovingly served the individuals and families suffering from Covid-19. Their care of Ron in the last weeks of his life, when his family could not be with him, is appreciated without measure.

Donations in Ron’s name may be made to the Travis Manion Foundation which aims to empower veterans and the families of the fallen. www.travismanion.org

I had the great pleasure of owning the house behind Ron & Susan’s glorious garden for 20 years. Ron was a wonderful friend to me, the best possible neighbor, and I will miss him terribly. He knew the neighborhood, the street, the quirks of my house and yard, and the police officer who gave me the first and only speeding ticket of my life. All love and strength to my friend Susan, and to all their lovely family. My heart goes out to you all.
