Alice Kienzle
Alice Kienzle (nee Marley), 87,
passed away peacefully on June 6, 2009 at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, she was currently a resident of Folcroft, Pa. Previously she resided in Eddystone, Pa, and was originally from Chester, Pa.
She attended Collingdale High School. She was a dedicated employee for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She served as the head cook for St. Rose of Lima, Eddystone, Pa, for 30 years and several other parishes, including Our Lady of Charity Church, Brookhaven, Pa, for 10 years.
She loved the simple things in life; family foremost, watching movies, classical movies, playing penuchle and solitaire.
She was the daughter of the late James and Edythe Marley.
She was the beloved mother of Edmund J. (Norah) Kienzle of North Umberland, Pa, Kathleen (Robert) Carre of Brookhaven, Pa, and Mary Jane (late Edward) Gieder of Folcroft, Pa. She was the sister of Rita Sweeney of Glenolden, Pa, (only surviving sibling of 11).
She was the grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 25.
She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will take place Thursday 10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015.
Friends may call Thursday 9:30-10:30am at the church.
Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa.
