Amy “Betty” Platt

Amy “Betty” Platt, 88,

passed away August 23, 2009 in Lima, Pa. Born in Chester, Pa, she has been a life-long resident of Delaware County, residing many years in Aston, Pa. She attended Chester and Brookhaven schools and was a member of the Church of St. Joseph in Aston, Pa. She and her mother were very well liked and were competent care givers to the children of many Middletown Township and other area families during the 1950’s and 60’s. Amy cared for the young son of American Band Stand’s Dick Clark, when he resided in the Drexelbrook area. Later Amy was employed by the Penn Delco School District until her retirement. Amy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her mother and brother. In later years she traveled in Europe with relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert A. Platt, her mother Amy Scott Platt, and her brother, Robert “Bob” Platt.

She is survived by friends and cousins.

Funeral service will be held Friday August 28, 2009 at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation is from 10-11am Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at St. Michaels’s Cemetery in Chester, Pa
