Of Wilmington, DE (formerly of Brookhaven, PA) passed away peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, Oct 18, 2007. She was 85.

Born in Philadelphia, Anna graduated from Darby High School in 1940. She served her country as a Corporal in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. Anna worked for Westinghouse Electric Company in Tinicum, PA for 20+ years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Brookhaven Fire Company Women’s Auxiliary and past president of the Brookhaven Chapter of AARP.

Anna was an extraordinary single parent who devoted her life to raising her 5 children in a loving and caring environment. She enjoyed crafting, bingo and was an avid reader, often reading as many as 70 books per year. She also enjoyed spending time with and corresponding with her family and friends. She was “phanatical” about the Phillies.

Anna was predeceased by her son, David E. Hill, Jr. and brother, Herbert Cressman. Surviving to dearly miss her and cherish her memory are her girls Diana Decker, Wilmington, DE; Marcia Vastine, Fredericksburg, VA; Nancy Wilkerson, Indianapolis, IN and Melissa Patro, Wilmington, DE; brother Bob Cressman, Wilmington, DE, sister Josie O’Neil, DeLand, FL and sister-in-law Ellen Cressman of Interlaken, FL. Also, 7 grandchildren: Dee Kremnitzer, David Hill, Amber Scotziewicz, Lisa Baccich, Benjamin Vastine, Michael Johnson and Jennifer Patro and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Taylor Hospice, especially Meg and Chrissie, for their extraordinary care. And, also, Dr. Marc Grobman, Wilmington, DE for his compassion and care during her illness.

Please join Anna’s family for a visitation at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24th at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 501 Duncan Road, North Wilmington, DE 19809 (302-764-7488) followed by a Memorial and Service of Resurrection at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetary, Linwood, PA.
