Cheryl Pompilii, 77, passed away on December 7, 2023, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Chester, PA, and was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1964, where she was a cheerleader. She then went on to nursing school at Widener University. Cheryl was an RN who worked for Sacred Heart Hospital, Crozer Chester Medical Center, and retired from the University of Pennsylvania.
She was extremely passionate about books and enjoyed going to book signings and meeting new authors. Many times, she worked personally with the authors and would read and review their books before they were published. She loved spending time with her husband at their vacation home in Crystal Beach, Earleville, MD, sitting on the deck with a book in her hand. Her favorite tradition was Black Friday shopping with her son Joe. Above all else, she loved spending time with her grandkids and really enjoyed watching her grandson Anthony play basketball.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents Sgt. John “Snapper” and Dorothy “Dot” Ryan and her brother Stephen “Bogie” Ryan.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Sylvester “Sonny” Pompilii; her loving children Joseph S. Pompilii (Dana), Marc Pompilii (Kari), and Daniel Pompilii; her grandchildren Tyler, Anthony, and Gianna Pompilii, brother John Ryan (Edie), sister-in-law Tootie Ryan, niece Katie Ryan and nephews Matthew (Amanda), Bradley (Heather) and Jeffrey (Karen) Ryan.
