Daniel J. Mellor

Daniel J. Mellor “Danny”, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on September 20, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a resident of Drexel Hill and Upper Darby, before moving to Brookhaven, PA, for the last 11 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He has always had a love for fishing, hunting, and camping and has been a member of the Field and Stream since 1968. He was also a member of the NRA. He enjoyed watching tv, especially the history channel.

Danny was predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years, Virginia Mellor; his parents Margaret and Norman Mellor; and his sisters Margaret “Peggy”, Mary, Norma Jean, Millie, and Georganne “Georgie”.

He is survived by his stepdaughter Donna Johnson (Jimi); many nieces and nephews; his longtime best friend Frank “Fran” Dath (Marie); and many other lifelong friends.

Visitation Thursday (September 28, 2023) from 6:00pm-7:30pm, with a service starting at 7:30, at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. His burial will take place privately at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, Brookhaven, PA.
