Diane F. Platt

Diane Frances Platt (nee Malovich), was born into this world December 14, 1953 in Chester, PA, as daughter to the late Michael P. and Helen E. Malovich (nee Pezick). Diane passed to the Lord peacefully on December 5, 2024 and is reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, the late Edwin C. Platt. As a child, Diane grew up in the Highmeadow neighborhood of Middletown Township, Delaware County, PA. She attended Our Lady of Charity grade school in Brookhaven, PA, Notre Dame Girls School in Moylan, PA, and graduated from Penncrest High School Class of 1972, Media, PA.

Early on, Diane found a niche in secretarial work, typing, dictation and organization. She worked for everything from temp agencies, builders, banks and even the Franklin Mint in Lima, PA. During her time as a secretary at Southeast National Bank in Chester, PA, Diane met the love of her life, the late Edwin C. Platt. The two were happily married on August 5, 1978 at Mount Hope Methodist Church in Aston, PA. Through the years each of them proved to each other and to others around them, the meaning of unconditional love.

In her free time, Diane enjoyed reading classic romance novels, taking walks and hikes of all kinds, and was adept at sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed simple vacations to the shore at Avalon, NJ, or the mountain areas wherever there was a good breeze and a beautiful sight. Diane was also an excellent dancer in her younger years. She tended to have a great eye for fashion and would always find the right look for any class of social situation. Out of all the roles she had in life: wife, friend, sister, aunt, daughter, mother, and grandmother, she always made the most effort in her own way to make sure her son and grandchildren were thought of, and most of all, Loved.

Diane is survived by her son Michael Jacob and his family of Roxana, DE, brothers Jack (Jacob) Malovich and his family of Erie, PA and Vince Malovich and his family of Mt. Laurel, NJ. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
