Edwin C. Platt
1944-2015
Edwin Clark Platt, born into this world January 31, 1944 in Chester, PA, and passed to the Lord suddenly on January 31, 2015, 71 years to the day. Ed was a lifelong resident of Aston, PA, and graduated in 1963 from Sun Valley High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served our country in Germany from 1966 to 1972, earning the rank of Staff Sargent. Over the years, Ed wore many hats, working from a farm/nursery hand to a bank security officer and most recently a building maintenance supervisor for Omnicare, Inc. He was a loving, devoted father, husband, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed helping his son with many mechanical projects, as well as hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. A 47 year member of Mt. Hope Methodist Church in Aston, he also enjoyed reading the Bible and exuded kindness in all he did. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Frances (Malovich), his son Michael Jacob (Josephine Cowling), his four grandchildren (Henry Michael, Jacob Blaise, Nicholas Michael, and Vincent Anthony), his two brothers-in-law Vincent Malovich and Jack Malovich and their families. Edwin is also survived by many cousins as well as extended family in Allentown, PA and Ohio.
