Evelyn “Jean” Whiteley Goodman, 84, passed away August 16, 2009 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Born in Brookhaven, Pa, she currently resided there. She had also resided in Middletown, Pa, Corpus Christi, Tx, and Grier City, Pa.
She graduated from Media High School, class of 1943. She was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was a great Phillies fan and enjoyed country classics. She was the wife of the late Lewis D. Goodman who passed away in 1991. She was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Evelyn P. Whiteley.
She was predeceased by her son Lewis R. Goodman who passed away in 1985. She was survived by her son, who was also her caregiver, Donald J. Goodman Sr. of Brookhaven, Pa. She was the sister of the late Beatrice Young.
She was the grandmother of 3 and grandmother of 4. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and dear friends, a special niece, Carol Ann Hoopes who was always there for her, and special friend, Esther Chavez who was also a caregiver.
Funeral service Friday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Friday 10-11am at the funeral home.
Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
