George A. Keegan

George A. Keegan, 78, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022. Born in Drexel Hill, PA, he was a long-time resident of Delaware County before moving to Middletown, DE, 18 years ago. He received his bachelor’s in engineering and had a long career with Sunoco at the Marcus Hook and Philadelphia refineries before his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army and belonged to the VFW. George loved to play golf, racquetball, traveling, cooking, and laughing lots with friends. He was predeceased by his parents John H. Keegan, Sr. and Marion Morgan.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years Heather Chelpaty; his children Raymond Keegan (Monica) and Britta Keegan; his siblings John Keegan (Ea), Harry Kissinger (Carole), Carol Billbrough; his grandchildren Jacob, Jensen and Joey. He is also survived by his golf buddies, the racquetball crew, the “wild dogs”, his travel partners, and the medical team at the University of Pennsylvania. He had lots of close friends and will be missed dearly.

George will be interned at Arlington National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on June 16, 2022, 5:30-8:30pm at Tonic Seafood and Steak (Salon Room), 111 W. 11th St., Wilmington, DE, 19801. In lieu of flowers please donate a wreath in honor of George (Wreaths Across America), your local fire department, or an animal rescue of your choice.
