James J. Thomas July 15, 2006

James J. Thomas, 67, passed away July 15, 2006 at his home. Born in Chester, Pa, he was a longtime resident of Brookhaven, Pa. He attended Immaculate Heart and St. James High School, Chester, Pa. He worked for Scott Paper for 13 years and retired from British Petroleum in 1996. He was a former member of Four Seasons Raquetball Club, Brookhaven, and a member of Our Lady of Charity Church, Brookhaven, Pa. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was the loving husband of Rita Coppotelli Thomas for 44 years. Devoted father of Karen Avestruz of Bethel, Pa, and Kathleen McKain of Havertown, Pa. Survived by his brothers William Thomas of Aston, Pa, and Edward Thomas of Claymont, DE. He was the grandfather of three. Funeral service will be held Wed. 11 AM at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Friends may call Tuesday evening 7-9 pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015, and also Wed. morning 10-11 am at the church. Interment S.S.
