James Roman, 80, passed away January 27, 2014 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, he was a long time resident of Wallingford, Pa. He was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1951. He received his BA in 1963 and his MA in 1964 from Temple University. He was a Professor of English and Film Studies at Delaware County Community College and was also a delivery driver for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He was a member of the NEA, PSEA, WRTI, WHYY, ACLU, and the Teamsters Union. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and had a love for fine art, automobiles, and the printed page. He was predeceased by his parents Jean and Elmer Roman.
He is survived by his wife Linda Roman; his son Miles Roman; daughter Jennifer Flinn; his grandchildren Chelsea, Lilly, and Brandon Flinn.
A memorial gathering with open visitation will be held Saturday 11am-2pm at the Delaware County Community College, STEM Building, Room 1403, 901 Media Line Rd., Media, Pa, 19063.
