Joan Davitt Bowe August 13, 1936 - March 23, 2009

Joan Davitt Bowe, 72, passed away March 23, 2009 at her home. Born in Dickson City, Pa, she was currently a resident of Granite Farms Estates, Lima, Pa. Prior to moving to Lima she resided in Brookhaven, Pa, for 40 years. She received her Associates Degree from Penn State, Main Campus, Pa. She worked for Merck as a Chief Medical Technologist and also for Scott Paper as a Laboratory Technician. She belonged to Our Lady of Charity Church, Brookhaven, Pa, and The Neumann’s Club. She was very active in the community, loved to travel, was an avid reader, and was extremely devoted and proud of her grandchildren and family. She was just recently predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Alphonsus Bowe. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Davitt.

She was the loving mother of Kathleen (Ken) Mulderrig of Garnet Valley, Pa, and Eileen (Chuck) Nyce of Tallahassee, Fl. She was the sister of William H. Davitt of South Carolina, Ceil Thomas of Virginia Beach, Va, and the Late Gerard Davitt. She was the loving grandmother of Cara, Ryann, Jackson, and Cooper. Funeral service will take place Friday 10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Friends may call Thursday evening 7-9 at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015 and also Friday morning 9:30-10:30 at Our Lady of Charity Church.
