John Aldin, 78
Died December 6, 2007 at Wallingford Nursing Home, Wallingford, Pa. He was a
resident of Aston, Pa, for the past 30 years. Prior to that he was a resident of Aldan, Pa. He was a Baptist minister, self employed cleaning service, Elwyn where he retired in 1993. He was a
member of Chichester Baptist Church for the past 17 years. He taught in the Adult Sunday School class for several years and was a big part of the music ministry in the church. John played the organ and piano over the years for the congregational singing. He also sang in the choir and in smaller singing groups. He also played regularly in church services. He could also play the guitar and accordion. He would often use these instruments for ministry in nursing homes. He was well loved by all members of the church.
He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was the son of the late Ada and John Aldin. He was the husband of Lila Mae Aldin of Aston, Pa.
He was the father of Linda Welford (Rick) of Wernersville, Pa, Lorraine Craft (Bob) of Media, Pa, and Lois Scogna (Jack) of Honeybrook Twp., Pa. He was also the step father of Marlita Silver of Ontario. He was the brother of Martha Wilson of Lancaster County, Pa. and Ed Aldin of Bucks County, Pa.
He was the former husband of Kathleen Aldin of Womelsdorf, Pa.
He was the grandfather of 7.
Funeral service will be held Thursday 11 am at the Chichester Baptist Church, 800 Cherry Tree Rd., Aston, Pa, 19014
Calling Hours Wednesday 7:30-9pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015 and 10-11am Thursday at the church.
Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, Pa, 19008.
