John E. Viebahn
John E. Viebahn, 91, passed away June 14, 2015 at Taylor Hospice, Ridley Park, Pa. Born in Chester he was a long time resident of Parkside before moving to Glen Mills 43 years ago. He was a graduate of Chester High School. He worked as an oil transporter for Sun Oil for over 40 years before his retirement and was also a TV repairman on the side. He was a US Army WWII veteran where he was a radio technician and Morse Code translator. John was a long time active member of the Parkside Fire Company. He was a member of the Sun Honor Club, Senior Citizens of St. Thomas, and Concord Senior Citizens. He played baseball for Chester and Parkside Youth Athletics and bowled for Sun Oil. He loved going to the Pocono Mountains and always looked forward to the West End Fair and Demolition Derby. Above all else he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed his Thursday mornings going to Burger King with his friends for over 50 years. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years Blanche A.; parents Frank and Elvira Viebahn; son Adrian Bannan; daughter Phyllis Pasqualini; brothers William H. Sr. and Frank E. Jr.; and his niece Wendy Viebahn.
He is survived by his children John F. (Linda), Lorean (John) Koscinski, and Rosalie Riddell; sister in laws Rosemary Viebahn and Eleanor Schoen; nephew William H. Jr.; niece Marie Wardynski; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral service Friday 10:30am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Friday 9-10:30am at the funeral home. Interment St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Glen Mills, Pa. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Senior Citizens of Concord, Parkside Fire Company, Concord Fire Company, or Taylor Hospice.
