Joseph G. Wassel December 7, 1926 - January 9, 2012

Joseph G. Wassel, 85, passed away January 9, 2012 at Brandywine Hospital. Born and raised in Mahony City, PA, he lived the last 57 years in Brookhaven, Pa. He worked for Phoenix Steel as a rigger for his entire career before his retirement. He belonged to the VFW Post 1521 and loved the outdoors. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his sons; Joseph (Donna), Anthony, Michael (Sylvia), and David (Barbara); his sister Catherine Medvid; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral service Friday 10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Thursday evening 7-9pm and Friday morning 9-10am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa.
