Leroy J. “Sonny” Behr

Leroy J. “Sonny” Behr, age 79, of Palm Beach, FL. formerly of Eddystone passed away peacefully on December 25, 2021.

He was born in Chester, raised in Eddystone, and went to Saint James High School. Sonny served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a barber, but his passion was being a musician with the “Sonny Trio”. The Sonny Trio was known throughout Delaware County and the Tri-state area playing many venues and creating a legendary following. Sonny moved to Florida in 1985 and continued his career as a very successful solo musician. He was also an avid Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame Fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, Emilio and Algine DeVico.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Cortesini Behr, son, Christopher Behr, daughters, Carolyn Behr and Kim Ebright; brother, Anthony (Linda) DeVico; sisters, Catherine (Charles) Leslie and Judy (Stan) Sigda; grandchildren, Taylor, Remi, Kaynnah, and “LCB” Logan. Also a loving uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 9:30-11:00am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Avenue Brookhaven, Pa. 19015, followed by his funeral liturgy at 11:00am.
