Leslie “Les” Hunter
Leslie (Les) D. Hunter, 72, passed away on 10/25/16 @ CCMC. Born and raised in Upland, PA, Les graduated from Eddystone High School, before courageously serving our country in Vietnam while in the Navy. He was employed by both Scott Paper Corporation and QVC, Inc. He was a member of the Chester #94 Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 777.
He was predeceased by his parents Leland D Hunter Sr. and Thelma Wasson (nee Linaweaver), a sister Joan Marie and brothers Lawrence and Louis.
He is survived by his children Timothy, Michael (Tami N), James and Amanda Hunter He was the grandfather of Travis M. and Ashley-Savannah N. Hunter.
Also survived by brothers Lee, with whom he resided, Lonny (Linda), and Lance (Edna). He was the beloved uncle of Steve and Kim Hunter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Les was a kind and loving man. Always ready with a quick smile, he spent his days walking around Upland, reading his papers, doing his puzzles, or scratching off his lottery tickets in the park. He enjoyed baseball, and could always be found cheering on the teams behind the batting cage in Bristol Lord Field. He was loved dearly and will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
Memorial service will be held Friday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Visitation 9-11am at the funeral home. Burial private.
In lieu of flowers we would like donations to the Wounded Warriors Project, or any other charitable organization that supports our servicemen and women and our veterans, made in his honor.
