Lillian Guydos
Lillian E. Guydos (nee Testoni), a resident of Brookhaven, PA. Born and
raised in Chester, PA above her family’s bakery, Testoni’s Bakery on Second
Street (which was sold to Buono Brother’s in 1956), She was the daughter of the
late Ernest and Vera Testoni (nee DiNicola). Predeceased in death by her brothers
Albert (Testoni), Ernest (Testoni), and Victor (Testoni), and a sister, Sophie
Simber (nee Testoni). Married to the late William A. Guydos, Sr. for forty-eight
years, she is survived by her adoring sons, William A. Guydos, Jr. and Steven B.
Guydos (Claudia).
A lover of music, Lillian had performed as a soloist in numerous musicals and
minstrels throughout the years. She was a graduate of Saint Anthony’s School and
Chester High School.
She was an employee of The Chester Times (Daily Times) from 1948 thru 1966, as a Teletype-setter and a member of Teletype Union 776.
A parishioner of Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church and a member of Our
Lady of Charity Charitians, also participating as a member of their choir.
Lillian’s hobbies included painting, of which she was a former member of the
Delaware County Art Guild. Her interests also included, gardening, music, and
trips to Atlantic City casinos. She loved all animals, most recently enjoying the
companionship of her son William’s German Shepherd, Tyson.
Lillian truly left a lasting impression on everyone she met and will always be
remembered for her delicious cooking, baking and loving nature.
Visitation will take place Sunday 7-9pm as well and also 9-10:30am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Funeral Mass Monday 11am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Burial SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
