Martha Joanne Heller March 17, 1938 - January 24, 2025

Martha Joanne Heller (nee Hedge) age 86, of Glen Burnie, Maryland passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025 surrounded by her adoring family.

Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Annie Belle Wyatt and the late Richard Lee Wyatt.

Known as Joanne to all family and friends, she was a graduate of Media High School.

Joanne is survived by her loving children Doris (Orlando) Petini, Ed (Cheryl) Heller, Terry (Cherie) Heller, and Gary Heller. She was preceded in death by daughter Deborah Louise. She has six grandchildren, Anthony (Alesia) and Brandon (Precious) Petini, Haley and Jeremy Heller, Ethan and Aspen Heller and seven great grandchildren, Michael, Logan and Clara Petini, Deztiny, Giana, Tyler and Izabelle Petini. Joanne is also survived by her sister Sandy Collom and Brother Bruce (Vera) Hedge and is sister to the late James Richard Hedge and has many nieces and nephews.

She was a dedicated and loving wife to the late Alvin Heller. Joanne operated a daycare for over 25 years before entering the nursing field, working at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Media PA until her retirement.

Some of Joanne’s favorite activities included spending time camping at Elk Neck State Park, Reading, Gardening, Crocheting and Knitting and most enjoyed baking with her children, grand children and great grand children.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Brookhaven Borough Municipal Center (2 Cambridge Road, Brookhaven PA 19015). Visitation is from 1:30-3:00 PM  followed by Eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Spina Bifida Association 1600 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 800 – Arlington, VA 22209 or to The Humane Society of the United States 1255 23rd St. NW, Suite 450 Washington, DC 20037.
