Mary Hampton
Mary Malloy Nicholson Hampton earned her angel wings on May 23, 2017, in the way she loved to live –surrounded by her family who loved her so very much.
In her 20s, Mary worked at Ship n Shore, at Fibre Metal, and as a homemaker. In her 30s, 40s, and 50s, she always had a pleasant smile and a kind word for customers of Maybeth Hallmark, Thrift Drug, Savin’ Variety, and CVS. She later worked for Penn Delco School District, from which she retired in 1996.
Mary was blessed to live with her husband, Harold, for more than 50 years in Brookhaven, where they raised 5 daughters amid neighbors who became family. She loved sipping tea and enjoying toast and TastyKakes with family and friends around her kitchen table, hunting down bargains with her daughters at yard sales, and singing in the church choir. Her family was the center of her life, and she loved proudly telling stories of her children and grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Malloy and Margaret Thomas Malloy Baker; her first husband, Lynroy (Nick) Nicholson; sisters, Sarah (Sis) Cheety, Ethel Heiden, Emma Gibson, and Marguerite Malloy; and brothers, Ray, Bill, Frank, and Sam Malloy.
Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Harold A. Hampton, of Brookhaven; her 5 daughters and sons-in-law: Penny and David Mullin of Ridley Township, Cathie Fasciglione (Joe) of Chichester, Judy and John Schupp of Little Britain, Lisa and Joseph Swain of Newark, DE, and Shannon and Jason Sutherland of Rose Valley; a sister, Nancy Tyler (Tom), of Trenton, NJ; her grandchildren: David Mullin (Jessica), Laurie Bramhall (Jack), Danielle Ryan (Mark D’Amico), Amanda Fasciglione (Mike Hunter), Ryan Fasciglione (Rebecca), Jaime Haelle (Kevin), Nicholas Fasciglione, John Schupp, Jaclyn Schupp (Alex Williams), Patrick and Sean Swain, and Aidan Sutherland; 14 great grandchildren; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
