Mary L. Albany, 69, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Chester, PA and she was a lifelong resident of Upland. Mary graduated from Notre Dame High School and the College of Nursing of Crozer Foundation. She worked for Sterling Rehab in Media as an LPN for many years before her retirement. She was a lifetime member of Parkside Firehouse where she held the Office of Ambulance Lieutenant, Ambulance Captain and Treasurer.
Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson. She enjoyed traveling and going on cruises and gardening. And she adored her dog, Rori. She was an avid sports fan, with Phillies being her number 1.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Leo and Joan (nee Remm) Greenhalgh and her brother Leo.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years John E. Albany (Jack); her loving children John Albany (Jan), Dawn Curry (Kevin), Paul Curry (Mary), and Dannielle Curry (Brian); her siblings Peter (Dawn), Joseph, Denise (Tony), Sandy (Scott); sister in law Julie; her beloved grandchildren Kaitlynn, Alexis, Rylee, Reese, Skylar, Evan, Brielle, Maeve, and Leo; her great grandson Shane; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and her chocolate lab Rori. She was part of a very large close family and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday (October 28, 2023) from 2:00-5:00pm at the Upland Fire House, 1 McClintock Drive, Upland, PA, 19015. Arrangements handled by the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, Brookhaven, PA, 19015. Due to her love of the Phillies, the family is asking everyone to attend in their favorite Phillies gear.
