Nancy Bell passed away at her home in Staten Island, NY on August 14, 2023. She was born December 14, 1946 in SW Philadelphia, PA, to the late Frank Lanzer Bell, Jr. and Jane Loretta Kehl Bell. She is predeceased by her sister, Stephanie (Bell) Albert, and nephew Daniel Albert. She is survived by sisters Millie (Bell-Borko) Finnegan and Tina Bell, & Edward Albert, along with many nieces and nephews, and her cat Gracie.
Nancy graduated from Notre Dame HS in Moylan, PA. As an adult, she loved and lived in New York City for most of her life. Around age 30, she lived in Greenwich Village, her favorite. During this time she worked as an Assistant to Dick Button at the Wide World of Sports; PBS Channel 13; was Assistant to Earl Gardner, followed by a longtime stint as Assistant to Judy Blume. She often regaled us of stories hanging with the likes of Chet Baker in the Village. She was a lifelong avid Jazz fan.
In the early 90s, she made a go at life in Seattle, WA, and San Francisco for several years, eventually returning to Staten Island, NY. She retired 10 years ago with 25 years of service as executive assistant at Cozen O’Connor.
Nancy loved to travel and made her way to Venice, Florence, Rome, Sicily, Paris, Scotland, Wales, England, Quebec, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. She loved Scotland the best. Nancy also loved writing and sending letters and notes to her friends and family, and for the last 10 years attended writing classes, at which time she made many lasting friendships.
A memorial service for Nancy will be held on August 30, 2023 at Noon at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Avenue Brookhaven, PA 19015.
