Paul Luther Grant Sr.
Paul L. Grant Sr., 91, passed away March 10, 2013, at Crozer Keystone Hospice, Ridley Park, Pa. Born in Girardville, Pa, he was a resident of Springfield, Pa, for over 60 years. He was a graduate of Girardville High School and completed a Veteran’s associate program at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Grant was a WW II veteran who served in the 6th Port T.C. in the US 5th Army as a Staff Sgt. He served in N. Africa, Italy and France. Mr. Grant was employed at Boeing as a buyer for over 20 years before his retirement in 1986. He was an active member of CC Hancock United Methodist Church since 1966 where he served on numerous committees and was president of the Board of Trustees for 20 years. He was an avid reader, loved hunting and fishing and was a life member of the Civil War Trust. Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is predeceased by his parents Mary and John Grant, and brothers Carl, John, and Leigh. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth (nee Swan); his son Paul L. Grant Jr. ; daughters Beverly Grant and Nancy (Fran) Brolley; his 2 beloved grandchildren Emily and Christopher Brolley.
Funeral service Friday 11:00 am at CC Hancock United Methodist Church, 542 Wesley Rd., Springfield, Pa, 19064. Visitation Thursday evening 7-9pm and also Friday 10-11am both at the church.
