Peter Yatsuk, the son of Russian immigrants, 93, passed away on March 24, 2011, recently a resident of Medina, OH and a long-time resident of Swarthmore, born in Chester and raised in Philadelphia. Peter was one of the first to enlist in Philadelphia in the US Army during WWII and served in China-Burma. Peter worked at Curtis Publishing until they closed down and then worked as a postman in the Swarthmore/Media area and retired from the Postal Service in 1982. He is preceded in death by his wife Ann (Yorkiew); by his sisters, Teresa (McGowan) and Anna (Mark); brother Henry; and sons Peter M. and Thomas J. He is survived by his brother Michael Yatsuk of Dayton Beach, Fla; sister, Mamie (Ankony) of Michigan; son, Gary; daughter-in-law, Jamie and five grandchildren, Peter, Michael, Jessica, Christopher and Erica, and two great grandchildren, Ashley and Chase and many nieces and nephews.
