Philip A. Kane, 68, died December 6, 2017 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Queens, New York and raised in West Orange, New Jersey, Phil graduated from Essex Catholic High School. He was the son of the late Matthew Kane and Adele McCooey Kane.
Phil was a US Navy veteran and served one tour of duty in Viet Nam.
He was retired from First Quality Enterprises, Inc. as a warehouse receiving supervisor.
Phil enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the beach, fishing, playing and watching golf, and music. He especially liked listening to Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys, Neil Young, U2, and Neil Diamond.
He will be remembered for his wonderful stories and ability to connect with people.
Phil is survived by his wife, Joan Rodgers Kane; children, Christina Kane Hayford (Marc), Suzanne Kane Filshill (Andrew), SaraBeth Kane Erpel (Aaron), and Andrew Kane (Michele); grandchildren, Kane David Hayford, Jayda Marie Hayford, Harrison Philip Hayford, Andrew David Filshill, Elliott Zachary Erpel, Mary Jane Erpel, Conor David Kane and Julian Andrew Kane.
Phil is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Kane Soriano (William), Matthew Kane (Shanya), Leslie Kane Sodano (Thomas), Bonnie Kane, and Maria Kane Kerr (Roger); and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, December 12, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa. 19015.
