Richard “Beaver” Leflar
Richard E. “Beaver” Leflar, 78, passed away December 29, 2016 at Crozer Keystone Hospice. Born in Chester, Pa, he was raised in Woodlyn and has resided in Brookhaven for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Ridley High School and attended Drexel University. Beaver worked for Scott Paper for 35 years before his retirement. He played the trumpet in high school and at Drexel. He was an avid Nascar and Eagles fan and loved camping, fishing, and hunting. Above all else, he loved spending time surrounded in his family. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Hazel Leflar.
Richard is survived by his wife Deborah Leflar; his daughters Karen Talbot (Kevin), Kimberly LeMond (Ronald), and Kathleen DiLeva (Michael); and his grandchildren Alexa and Taylor Talbot, Savannah LeMond, and Christopher and Ryan DiLeva.
Funeral services will be held Monday 11am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Monday 10-11am at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately for the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crozer Keystone Hospice, 175 East Chester Pike, Ridley Park, Pa, 19078 or Salvation Army, 151 W. 15th St. Chester, Pa, 19013.
