William G. Payne, age 87, born in Richmondale, Penna. He passed away September 23, 2006 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, in Upland, Pa. A resident of Brookhaven, Pa. for the past 55 years. His previous residence was Richmondale, Penna.. Employed by the Sun Oil Corporation as a control operator for 35 years where he retired in 1973.. He was a member of the Sun Oil Bowling team and Softball team. His passion was all sports. A veteran of WWII as a merchant marine quartermaster who served with honor on many tankers during the war. Son of the late William and Mary Payne, and father of the late Ronald Payne. Husband of Ann Danchak Payne of 58 years of Brookhaven, Pa. Father of Edward Payne of Gilbertsville, Pa., Brother of Clifford Payne of Burlington, Vermont, Beverly Paye of Uniondale, Pa. Grandfather of 6, great grandfather of 7. Funeral service Wednesday 12:30 p.m. at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, Pa.
