William R. Platt Sr., 83, passed away April 20, 2012. Born in Media, Pa, he has been a resident of Brookhaven, Pa, since 1962. He attended St. James High School, class of 1946. He worked for Boeing as a manager in transportation for 39 years before his retirement. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. William E. J. Platt and his siblings Lawrence A. Platt and Clair F. Platt. He was the beloved husband of Veronica Platt for 61 years; loving father of William (Karen) Platt Jr. of Brookhaven, Pa, Robert J. Platt of Parkside, Pa, Patricia Platt of Aston, Pa, and Clare (Tom) Beatty of Woolwich Twp., NJ; brother of Sister William Clare OSF, Sister Elizabeth Platt COC, and Gertrude (John) Giorgini; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral mass Wednesday 10:30am at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Visitation Tuesday evening 7-9 and also Wednesday morning 9-10 at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Media, Pa, 19063.
