William W. Ayers, 53, passed away April 27, 2007 at his home in Aton, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Brookhaven, Pa, before moving to Aston, Pa, 6 years ago. He graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1972. He retired from Walling Swarthmore School District as a painter. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans, St. Josephs Church in Aston, Pa, and Meals on Wheels. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam era. He was the son of the late Stephen Ayers. He was survived by his mother, Helen Walton Ayers of Aston, Pa, brothers; Stephen Ayers 3rd of Phoenixville, Pa, John Ayers of Green Lane, Pa, and James Ayers of Aston, Pa, Sisters; Jeanne Wilkinson of Aston, Pa, Kathy Ayers of Annandale, VA. He was the uncle of 11, Great uncle of 2. Funeral service will be held Wed. 10:30 am at St. Joephs Church, 251 Concord Rd., Aston, Pa, 19014. Friends may call Tuesday evening 7-9 at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven, Pa, 19015, and also Wed. morning 10am at the church.
