Dr. Lee E. Bateman was born and raised in Delaware County. Lee is a graduate of Massanutten Military Academy, Wesley College, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He earned his Doctorate Degree of Philosophy for Funeral Service Education from the National Academy of Mortuary Science. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. Lee is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Cindy live in Brookhaven. They raised their two children, Eve and Wes, in the county and are now enjoying watching their grandchildren grow.
Lee took over the family business from his father, Ned, in 1982 and operated Bateman Funeral Home for nearly 40 years before taking a step back and transferring the ownership of the business to his daughter, Eve, and her partner, Charles. Lee is known in the community for his honesty and professional manner, in which he ran his business. As Lee says: “We always strive for excellence and personal attention in the service of our families.” This is a sentiment that remains a constant at Bateman-Allen Funeral Home.
